PowerSHAPE is unique in that it allows you to work with all CAD data in the same work space, wirframe, surfaces, solids and STL triangles. This means that the user can combine existing CAD models with scanned data and substantially reduce the modelling time. PowerSHAPE works well with other modelling systems because it can read not only most other CAD systems native formats but also standard formats like IGES and STEP.
PowerSHAPE follows the philosophy of "Simple to create, easy to modify"
and gives the designer a massive range of tools to successfully tackle
any task.
The clean user interface makes the system easy to learn and use for occasional as well as full-time users.

Based on Delcam's parasolids modeling kernel, designers can interact
with their 3D design with wireframe building blocks, complex b-spline
curves, totally freeform surfaces, associative solids, and triangle STL
models. All of these formats are supported within a single model,
allowing designers the flexibility to use the most appropriate tools for
each task.
PowerSHAPE Pro is the fully featured version of PowerSHAPE and includes
all the functionality to use PowerSHAPE for Reverse Engineering.
Combined with point cloud, meshing functionality and solid modelling
PowerSHAPE Pro is an excellent tool for building CAD models from laser
scanned data.
