Orthotics

OrthoMODEL is CADCAM system for producing custom made foot orthotics. A custom made orthotic is always going to provide a better solution for the patient. The OrthoMODEL system uses a digital scan of the foot shape that can either come from a scan of the patients foot itself, a scan of a plaster cast or a foam box impression.

In either case OrthoMODEL can use the data to produce an orthotic to the required specifications including corrections. OrthoMODEL is very flexible and easy to use. Many podiatrists have different ideas on how to design an orthotic but with OrthoMODEL you can customise the design process by using custom made templates to suit most requirements.

Delcam has developed its own laser scanner, iQube, that has been designed to accommodate all the different types of scans, weight bearing, non weight bearing, foam boxes and plaster casts. It is accurate and the only scanner available in the market that can do all the different types of scanning. The iQube is lightweight and portable making it suitable to bring to the patient.

The OrthoMODEL software comes with a fully integrated milling software, OrthoMILL, that with customised templates optimises the entire milling process. An advantage is that OrthoMILL works with most of the routers in the market so you can pick and chose the size and price that suits your business best. Apart from producing very efficient cutterpaths OrthoMILL also nests the orthotics and stores used material blocks in a database for later use on another job.
