Reverse Engineering
Reverse Engineering is the process of converting a physical part into a CAD database using a measuring arm or a scanning device to capture the features of the part. Camplex offers a range of laser and optical scanners but many times a measuring arm with a point probe will do the job. The Baces3D arm and scanner is a cost effective solution for capturing the part features and combined with PowerSHAPE Pro reverse engineering software will quickly convert the data into a 3D CAD model. The data can be solids or surfaces and can be saved in many common CAD formats including IGES, STEP and Parasolid.
PowerSHAPE Pro is a powerful and easy-to-use surface and solids modeller very suited to model complex curved shapes. PowerSHAPE Pro is unique in that it can model wireframe geometry, surfaces, solids, triangles and point clouds in one single model space. The power of PowerSHAPE will greatly reduce the time required to convert the scan data into a CAD model.
For SolidWorks users we are offering HighRES reverse engineering software that runs inside SolidWorks and allows the SolidWork user to do the reverse enginnering in a familiar environment. HighRES works with several measuring arms including FARO, CIMCORE, Baces3D and MicroScribe.
Camplex offers a range of scanning solutions, including hardware and software. Depending upon the application Camplex can tailor a complete system for reverse engineering, or laser based non-contact inspection.
