Camplex was founded in 1988 by Fred Carlstrom as a CAD/CAM service bureau for the automotive and toolmaking industry. The company focused on providing specialised CAD modelling and CNC toolpath programs to the toolmaking industry. Laser scanning, reverse engineering and rapid prototyping technologies were progressively implemented as the demand for these services grew.
In 1989, Camplex was appointed as Delcam’s sales partner for the Australian and New Zealand region. Today, Camplex has a strong customer base throughout this region, making it a substantial player in the CAD/CAM market. With its Head Office in Melbourne, Camplex has regional offices in Adelaide, Sydney, Perth and Napier, New Zealand.
