:: Reverse Engineering
Reverse Engineering is the process of converting a physical part into an electronic model, which can then be used in conventional manufacturing processes.
Reverse engineered data can be presented in many ways, such as digitised points, cross-sectional curves, laser scanned point clouds, STL meshes, or CAD models. Camplex offers a full range of hardware and software solutions to assist you in sourcing the most appropriate system for your needs.
Direct machining of Laser Scanned point cloud data
The unique combination of PowerMILL machining software, with CopyCAD reverse engineering software for STL mesh generation and PowerSHAPE CAD software for creation of run-off surfaces and parting lines, allows Camplex to offer a complete software suite to enable machining of point cloud data.
Combining the Delcam PowerSOLUTION suite with a Faro laser scanner allows Camplex to supply you with a complete, turn-key, solution for extremely rapid replication of tools and dies.
This unique process is particularly suitable for press tooling, and composite tooling manufacture where large amounts of hand finishing are commonly required to tailor a tool for production.
Other typical combinations include:-
Rapid generation of CAD surface and solid models based upon point cloud data using PowerSHAPE CAD modeling software, CopyCAD reverse engineering software, and portable laser scanners.
Point cloud capture and STL mesh generation using CopyCAD reverse engineering software, and portable laser scanners.
Simple digitising of geometric features, and cross-sectional curves using PS-Arm, and articulated arm CMM’s.
